Thunder Canyon Brewery (TCB) is one of the longest-standing Tucson breweries.
Thunder Canyon Brewery (TCB) is one of the longest-standing Tucson breweries. Since 1997, they’ve helped set the stage for the city’s craft beer renaissance. Their original Foothills Mall location is still going strong, and now TCB is also operating out of a downtown location.
Though they have grown over the years, TCB’s goals remain the same—balancing creativity with experience to craft more than 60 recipes. Sixty different beers is a lot to tackle, but TCB breaks them down into eight categories—dark, fruity, hoppy, light, malty, specialty, strong, and wheat—for easier navigation. Of the 40 or so beers on tap at the restaurant, about half are TCB originals. The rest are beers and ciders from other breweries.
In addition to an extensive beer list, both TCB locations have a large menu featuring a variety of pub classics, many with a southwestern twist. Happy hour is from 3-7 p.m. everyday, and weekend specials are available after 5 p.m. TCB believes that creating a community around beer and food is only part of the equation, and they support local charities, school districts, and the police and fire departments. Brewery tours are available by appointment.
