Baja Brews is creating a six-part series highlighting the breweries of Tucson and the Arizona Borderlands. Each part comes out with an issue of Edible Baja Arizona.
Episode One introduces us to the “dean” of local brewers, John Adkisson of Iron John’s Brewing Co., and Austin Santos of The Address-1702, a craft beer bar and nano brewery that helped initiate Tucsonans to the wonders of craft beer six years ago. The project is co-sponsored by Visit Tucson and the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild.
Episode two goes behind the scenes with an up close look at the art and science employed by three of Tucson’s best craft breweries, Sentinel Peak, Pueblo Vida and Public Brewhouse. The project is co-sponsored by Visit Tucson and the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild.
In the third episode of Baja Brews, brewing beer is an art and a science. In part three of our Baja Brews series, we talk with lead brewers and microbiologists from Dragoon Brewing Co. and 1912 Brewing Co to find out about the critical role of yeast in the crafting of local brews. Check it out and always remember to drink local!
In the fourth episode of Baja Brews, hear from Tucson brewers about the economics of craft brewing and what it takes to start, sustain and grow in the beer business. Check it out and always remember to drink local!
In the fifth episode of Baja Brews, hear from Tucson brewmasters on the importance of providing both local and out-of-town beer-drinkers with an entertaining and friendly atmosphere, a sense of place… and of course, great brews!
In the sixth episode of Baja Brews, two of Tucson’s original brewers discuss the path from humble beginnings to sustained success and why the future of Tucson’s craft beer scene is looking bright.
